MEET THE DOCTOR

Khurrum S Sheikh, DMD, FICOI, FAGD

Dr. Khurrum S. Sheikh is a native of Jersey City, New Jersey, where he graduated from St. Peter’s Prep High School. Keeping with the Jesuit tradition, Dr. Sheikh earned a Bachelor’s degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. He earned his dental degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and furthered his knowledge by completing a one-year Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

A Master Craftsman of Custom Smiles

Just as a master artisan creates bespoke masterpieces, Dr. Sheikh designs personalized treatment plans unique to each patient’s oral health needs. He approaches dentistry not with a one-size-fits-all mentality, but with the precision of an architect—carefully analyzing, planning, and crafting solutions that harmonize with your individual dental structure, aesthetic desires, and lifestyle requirements.

This patient-centered philosophy means you’re not just receiving treatment; you’re experiencing care thoughtfully tailored to your specific journey toward optimal oral health.

During his residency, Dr. Sheikh focused on complex full mouth reconstruction treatments and medically compromised patients. He continued his specialized training at NYU where he completed a 2-year Implantology Fellowship in surgical placement and restoring dental implants. As a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) and a Fellow of the Implant Pathway continuum, Dr. Sheikh brings exceptional expertise to implant dentistry.

Distinguished Achievement in Continuing Education

In 2024, Dr. Sheikh earned his Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD)—an honor held by only 6 percent of dentists nationwide. This prestigious recognition requires completion of at least 500 continuing dental education hours and passing a rigorous comprehensive examination, demonstrating Dr. Sheikh’s unwavering commitment to excellence and staying at the forefront of dental advancements.

Dr. Sheikh is a former Assistant Professor for University of Nebraska Medical Center and has presented at multiple medical and dental conferences. Currently, Dr. Sheikh serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the department of Preventative and Restorative Sciences at UPENN, where he works closely with 3rd and 4th year dental students to share his expertise and passion for dentistry.

Dr. Sheikh remains active in the dental community as a clinical director and participant in the Special Olympics Special Smiles team. He served as President of the Mercer Dental Society in NJ in 2015-2016 and maintains memberships with the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
